Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: May 24, 2024. Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

Welcome to Uni-Boxes. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Uni-Boxes storage and logistics services. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Service Description

Uni-Boxes provides a comprehensive summer storage solution for university students. Our service includes:

  • Delivery of packing materials (boxes and tape) to your specified location.
  • Scheduled pickup of packed items from your residence.
  • Secure, climate-controlled storage for the duration of the summer term (up to 4 months).
  • Scheduled redelivery of items to your new campus residence in the fall.

The standard storage term begins on the date of pickup and ends on the scheduled delivery date in the fall semester. Extensions are available upon request for an additional fee.

2. Prohibited Items

For the safety of our staff and the integrity of our storage facilities, the following items are strictly prohibited from being stored in Uni-Boxes:

  • Perishable food items or liquids that may leak.
  • Hazardous materials, including explosives, flammables, or compressed gases.
  • Illegal substances or stolen property.
  • Living organisms (plants or animals).
  • Firearms, ammunition, or weapons of any kind.
  • Valuables exceeding $1,000 in value (e.g., high-end jewelry, rare collectibles) without prior written approval.

Uni-Boxes reserves the right to inspect any container and refuse service if prohibited items are suspected.

3. Liability & Insurance

Each Uni-Boxes account includes a basic protection plan covering up to $100 of total value across all stored items. This protection applies to damage or loss directly caused by our handling or storage.

3.1 Limitations of Liability

Uni-Boxes is not liable for damage caused by:

  • Improper packing by the customer.
  • Fragile items (glass, ceramics, electronics) not packed in original packaging or professionally padded.
  • Pre-existing damage or mechanical/electronic derangement.
  • Force Majeure events (natural disasters, civil unrest).

Customers are encouraged to purchase Supplemental Insurance for items of higher value during the checkout process.

4. Abandonment Policy

Maintaining clear communication regarding your delivery is essential for the management of our facilities.

If your items are not scheduled for delivery by the end of the storage term, we’ll reach out with reminders via email and phone. Items that remain unclaimed or unpaid for more than 14 days past the storage period may be considered abandoned.

Abandoned items may be donated to local charities or disposed of at the discretion of Uni-Boxes. Customers remain responsible for any outstanding storage or disposal fees incurred during this period. Scheduling your delivery early ensures a smooth return of your belongings and avoids the risk of abandonment classification.

Uni-Boxes Storage Systems Inc. reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via the email address associated with your account.
