The path here wasn't a straight shot. Twenty years ago, I entered the counseling profession because I wanted to help people change their lives. I love this work, but after thousands of hours in counseling sessions, I noticed something.
Many clients weren’t necessarily in a mental health crisis, but were more so adrift, missing the mark. Successful, capable, yet feeling an itch, a restlessness. They didn’t need to process their past; they needed a guide to help them figure out their now and their next.
They weren't counseling clients; they were coaching clients who happened to find their way to a therapist's office.
This is what drew me to coaching. It’s a space where we can leverage all my clinical understanding—that depth—and focus on practical steps and building a life that aligns with who you are and what you truly value. To get through all the BS and curate your best life.
I’ve also lived a bit—spent 12 years overseas, raised two sons, prepared for and built a
second and third career, navigated my own life transitions, and experienced the realities I
will coach you through
At this later stage of life, I am opting for a coaching approach in my work with clients. But not the typical life coach variety. I offer transformational coaching that combines therapeutic insight with forward momentum and workable techniques.
My faith in God is a core value and informs my self-leadership practices. This spiritual foundation adds a firm grounding, assisting your process. For those of the same faith, in particular, I will be a mature, sound guide.
When I'm not coaching, you will find me enjoying perfectly brewed single-origin coffee, creating fused glassware, reading, singing/listening to soul-stirring music, keeping up with latest coaching practices, TRX or riding my bike.
My favorite times are hanging out with my wife and adult children, and grandkids, practicing what I preach about living a balanced life.
These activities keep me grounded and energize me to walk alongside you as your coach.
The best time to start was a few years ago. The second-best time is now.
